Cannabix Technologies aims to deliver alcohol screening devices to U.S.

Cannabix Technologies Inc., a Vancouver, B.C.-based developer of alcohol and marijuana breathalyzer screening devices for law enforcement and the workplace, reports that it is in advanced discussions with Smartox for potential sales distribution of the Company’s Breath Logix Alcohol screening device.

Smartox is a biotech company specializing in drug testing out of Irving, Texas.

The Breath Logix device facilitates workplace alcohol testing with an accurate autonomous screening process. It uses a pre-calibrated, replaceable alcohol sensor cartridge to save time and eliminate costly calibrations. The device includes its own integration hub for third-party access control and biometric systems, potentially expanding its distribution globally.

The device features patent-pending pre-calibrated cartridge technology, allowing site safety administrators to maintain devices without expensive calibration equipment or technician visits. It supports various testing scenarios including pre-access, random, start-of-shift, pre-employment, return-to-work, and post-incident testing, enhancing organizational safety and reducing alcohol-related accidents.

Operationally, the Breath Logix Alcohol device is reported to automatically check user sobriety, capturing a picture to confirm and record their identity while the breath sample is delivered. It is said to provide a precise Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) level on-screen, and send a real-time alerts via text and email, and a dedicated web portal upon detecting positive results. The system logs BAC data for incident reporting and historical investigations.
