Plant, Canada’s manufacturing voice for more than 80 years, is pleased to announce Kirstyn Brown as its new editor.

Brown comes to Plant after having worked in media as an editor for almost 15 years. She brings a fresh perspective to Plant, and a proven track record of creating great content for targeted and niche audiences.

“I am very excited to see Kirstyn carry on the tradition of delivering great content to Plant’s audience: the leaders and decision makers in Canada’s manufacturing sector,” says Scott Atkinson, publisher of Plant. “I look forward to working with her on building our already strong relationship with our readers and the industry at large.”

Brown, who holds a BA in Journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), began her media career as an intern at St. Joseph Media, and has worked as a writer and editor for several consumer brands, most notably STRONG Fitness Magazine, a women’s health and fitness publication of which she was Editor-in-Chief, as well as a co-creator.

As an editor, Brown has a reputation for her “people first” approach to storytelling, while valuing cutting-edge news, innovation, and progress.

“I’ve always had a love of media and content,” says Brown. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to join the Annex Business Media team and bring engaging, relevant content to Plant readers online, in print and on social media.”
